about
------------------
this one song can be about anything, really; but at the heart, it was written to express the emptiness that's there when you notice all of the things missing things in your life.
naive melancholy you feel in your early twenties, and all that jazz,
home, friends you haven't seen in a while, relationships that break your heart up, traffic, existential dread, junk mail, etc etc.
the version here is the longer, less-structured take, but it gets all the qualms and melodies out in the air.
best listened to while driving or waiting at a transit center,
...dance at your own discretion.

lyrics
Lyrics:
Schenectady you are a being
that walks the line that's in between
no labels put you in a box
you wear your auburn hair in locks
never without your winter sock
you hang around the city dock
not here not there not close not far
an enigma that is what you are
parasite, clad in white
be my light for one more night
show me how to walk the walk
and own the manner in which i talk
take me past the ticket booth
take me up onto the roof
show me what your eyes can do
and show me how to be like you
there's always someone just like you
there's always some one to turn to
someone to look through someone to confide to
someone to see through someone to lie to
Schenectady you are a being that walks the line that's in between
tired eyes that never sing
a nervous soul not too be seen
lets have a toast to forgotten ghosts
lets dance to songs that you love most
lets dig for fire down the well
id rather lie and sleep a spell
no curtain call no fade to black
i wish that i could take it back
words that i could never track
a thought for you i'll always have
in every single heart attack
and every time i turn to black
the words get stuck in my throat
the words get stuck in my throat
the words get stuck in my throat
the words get stuck in my throat
